- Insurance companies can exclude pre-existing conditions, or conditions that existed during the six months prior to receiving coverage, for up to one year. In some cases, pre-existing conditions can be excluded permanently.
- Your healthcare policy can be canceled due to fraud or non-payment of premiums, but cannot be canceled if you get ill.
