- Individual policies are sold on guaranteed and non-guaranteed basis.

- People who can be covered by Medicare or Medicaid are not eligible for guaranteed policies.
- Parents with individual policies have coverage for newborns for 31days.
- Disabled children may be able to continue coverage after they reach legal age under their parent’s policy if the children are unable to support themselves.
- Insurance companies are not required to offer standardized plans.
- There may be exclusions for pre-existing conditions on your policy.
- Your insurance policy cannot be canceled simply because you are ill.
