Regence Blue Shield offers a range of products, including:

  • Selections $500: offers a choice of two deductibles with a 20% coinsurance when visiting network healthcare providers and a 50% coinsurance when using non-network providers.  Coverage includes hospitalization, blood banks, and ambulance service.  Prescription drugs require a 50% coinsurance.  This benefit can be used without meeting any deductible.

  • Selections $1,000: has a choice of two deductibles with a 20% coinsurance when seeing network providers and a 50% coinsurance when using non-network providers.  Maximum out of pocket is $2,000 per person or $6,000 per family per year when using network healthcare providers.  There is no out of pocket maximum when using non-network providers.  Services covered include hospitalization, ambulance services, mammography, maternity, and smoking cessation. Prescription drugs have a 50% coinsurance.  Deductibles do not have to be met in order to buy prescription drugs with coinsurance.

  • Preferred Plan $750: has a $750 deductible for individuals and a $2,250 deductible for families. There is 20% coinsurance applicable when using network providers and a 50% coinsurance when using non-network providers.  Coverage includes hospitalization, preventative care, and maternity.  Prescription drugs have a 50% coinsurance.

  • Selections Plan $1,500: is a catastrophic insurance plan. The deductible for families is $4,500.  There is a 20% coinsurance for in-network providers and a 50% coinsurance for non-network healthcare providers.  Coverage includes professional services, hospitalization, and smoking cessation.

  • Preferred Plan $1,500: is another catastrophic insurance plan.  It generally has the same deductibles and coinsurance requirements as Selection Plan $1,500 with a few exceptions.  Coinsurance for some services is 20% when seeing non-network providers, including skilled nursing facility services. 

  • HSA Qualified Individual Preferred Catastrophic Plan: is a high deductible plan that may offer tax savings.  Members pay qualified medical expenses from a special account to which they have contributed that uses their pre-tax dollars.  This account can be used for long term savings as well as for paying medical costs if managed properly.
